The Pectoralis Major is responsible for flexion, adduction and medial rotation of the arm, for example it will bring the arm forward and across the body or pull something down the body. Common problems can occur when someone is quite rounded in the shoulders the Pectoralis Major will then become tight and restricted, quite often causing pain in the upper back. A very common issue with people working on computers for the majority of the day. Later this month more information on how to strech and strengthen this muscle.
