Muscle Of The Month - PSOS

The psoas muscle is among the most significant muscles that overlie the vertebral column. It is a long muscle on either side of the vertebral column and the brim of the lesser pelvis. At its distal end, it combines with the iliacus muscle to form the iliopsoas muscle. Combined with the iliopsoas muscle, the psoas is a major contributor of flexion of the hip joint (in a supine position or standing) and stabilising the lumbar spine.

The psoas muscle is often associated as a site for emotional tension, releasing of the area can have significant emotional release. Release of the area during massage or movement can have significant affects not only on more free movement and reduction of lower back pain, but also emotional tension.

There will plenty of psoas releasing working both my Stress and Chronic Pain, and Sleep and Stress Buster Yoga classes. Book online https://www.swbodybalance.com/book-online
